Senior Data Engineer

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Senior Data Engineer. The selected individual will join a collaborative team environment where they will provide support toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables. Key to the success of this position is the effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting project status.

• Process/aggregate structured and unstructured data for ETL processing.
• Build out a model to support the statistics, data mining, and machine learning of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to explore and extract insights to risk and fraud and advance executive reporting.  
• Develop algorithms and to apply mathematics to data, perform large scale experimentation and build data driven dashboards / reports to translate data into intelligence, solve a variety of business problems and enable business strategy.
• Support data management tasks such as merging, cleansing, and identifying relationships in data.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to generate actionable insights and help clients to solve difficult problems.
• Lead a team of data engineers to create a re-usable ecosystem to support efforts above.
• Support the organization and data pipelines leveraging DataBricks.
• Using Github, Jenkins and/or Lambda, automate tasks.

• Bachelor's Degree.

• 8 years of experience managing data engineering, data mining, and data analytics teams.

• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) models for tasks like text classification, sentiment analysis, and entity recognition a plus.

• Expertise in relational database structures, research methods, and statistical models.

• Ability to lead a data engineering Agile team to build out a platform to show tangible results.

• Understanding of data pipelines, event streaming.

• Experience with REST API and the AWS Ecosystem a plus.

• Experience with scripting or programming languages (i.e. Scala, Perl, Python, Java C/C++).

• Data visualization and presentation skills a plus.

• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Able to work independently.
