Overview

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of Cloud Engineer for our customer.  We are looking for a Cloud Engineer who will be a strong addition to the team.  The selected individual will join a collaborative team environment where they will provide expertise and support, including helping to define the projects objectives, support quality control, and support coordinating the efforts of team members to deliver projects according to plan. Key to the success of this position is the successful delivery of projects, and effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting project status.

Responsibilities

  • Be the lead on cloud migration or customization projects and provide end-to-end enterprise cloud application architecture and development.

     

  • Support cloud project design, development, planning, installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of the cloud environment. 

     

  • Support development and maintenance of custom business applications in the cloud. 

     

  • Provide development, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of new products from the concept phase onward, as well as taking complex and challenging existing systems and quickly developing expertise in maintaining and enhancing them. 

     

  • Mitigate all Cybersecurity risks and information breaches by establishing and sustaining compliance, governance, and cyber assurance solutions for SharePoint. 

     

  • Comply and enforce Cybersecurity standards in the cloud environment. 

     

  • Work with the Cybersecurity team to ensure regular scanning of all data is conducted as directed by policy.

     

  • Use metadata for discovery, classification, and security best practices. 

     

  • Implement solutions to securely share information between SharePoint servers and domains. 

     

  • Ensure permission policy compliance, and prevent security breaches and unauthorized access to sensitive content. 

     

  • Audit, clean-up and manage cloud subscription permissions.

     

  • Maintain compliance, reduce risk and take control of what organization users can do in the cloud subscription with policy enforcement and control configurations for access privileges, use of versioning, file upload limits, site quotas and the use of site templates to mitigate all Cybersecurity risks.

     

  • Provide documentation for software architecture, software design and development. 

     

  • Provide development and maintenance of custom business applications. 

     

  • Support cloud architecture, functionality, and configuration.

     

  • Document, update, and enhance processes and procedures and provide administrative actions as needed.

     

  • Assist in the development and drafting of CBC G-6 Concept of Operations, policies and SOPs.

     

  • Conduct all development and testing of systems prior to migrating to production

     

  • Participate in planning the development and security cooperation and provide expert advice for documentation in support of Cybersecurity.

     

  • Create subscription architecture artifact to support requirements for all supported organizations

     

  • Submit POA&M’s as required.

     

  • Maintain third party solutions.

     

  • Meet all IAVA requirements addressing all vulnerabilities as directed by the IAM.

     

  • Maintain and document all configuration changes.

     

  • Support cloud configuration and maintain Organizational taxonomies, policies, procedures and solutions.

     

  • Prepare and document software (technical) requirements and specifications.

     

  • Conceptualize and build new software design.

     

  • Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the cloud migration process.

     

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.

     

  • Coordinate with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to resolve problems with software products or company software systems in the cloud environment.

  • Participate in Change Management Control and submit Request for Change in accordance with CBC G-6 policy.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree with 10 years of overall applicable experience.
  • Minimum requirement is HS Diploma with 12 years of overall applicable experience. 
  • Interim Secret is allowed until full Secret clearance.
  • Obtain and maintain (if don't already possess) a computing environment certification relevant to job duties (must have within 6 months of hire)
  • DoD 8570.01-M baseline certification at time of hire.
  • Must be able to work independently. 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and provide support to all team members.
