SALARY RANGE: 160-180K

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect/Engineer (AWS) to join our team and help us work across multi-layered environments (i.e. varying security levels) to support the Authority-to-Operate (ATO) of applications. In this role, you will be responsible for working within a hybrid environment for both on-prem and cloud environments to implement/incorporate cutting edge technology, while coordinating requirements with other teams in the agency as needed to ensure cloud projects are implemented as specified and within scope. 

• Supporting on research, design, development and implementation of cloud architecture and strategy.
• Consulting on issues and requests from stakeholders that require the implementation of complex AWS solutions.
• Educate stakeholders and teams on the implementation of AWS services and associated application onboarding and initiatives.
• Troubleshooting AWS-related integration, configuration, or operational issues.
• Building highly scalable and highly available solutions deployed within AWS.
• Assisting working with other teams for cloud on-boarding and migrations.
• Assisting in providing tactical direction and operational support for the networking and security of cloud applications and platforms.
• Evaluating cloud networking infrastructure capacity and recommend solutions to address demand.
• Responsible for fixing POA&Ms in routers and helping to configure / troubleshoot the routes from classified networks to AWS.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience working as an AWS Architect / Engineer to support the provisioning and management of resources to support both custom, COTS and GOTS tools.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure components such as compute, storage, load balancing, network management, and monitoring (network and security).
• Knowledge with WAF as a Service (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with cloud networking (includes Transit Gateways, VPN gateways, VPCs, load-balancers, private endpoints).
• Knowledge of IAM technologies (Azure AD, AD AWS SSO).
• Experience working with Docker and developing CI/CD automation pipelines.
• Experience provisioning AWS resources using tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, etc.
• Experience with AWS on cloud migrations and use Gitlab for CI/CD automation pipelines
• Ability to automate the DevSecOps processes and to perform some programming/scripting 
• Experience developing in CDK, designing applications, building automated security / compliance, improving data governance or improving ETL pipelines.
• Must have Cloud programming skills
• Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud networking infrastructure issues.
