SALARY IS DEPENDENT UPON THE CANDIDATE’S SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
SALARY RANGE: $145K to $160K

HIGH END OF THE SALARY RANGE IS CONSIDERED FOR THOSE WHO EXCEED QUALIFICATIONS IN A REQUIRED AREA

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a Senior Software Architect who will be responsible for architecting solutions and migrating applications from on-premises to AWS. The selected candidate must have the ability to develop applications using various design patterns and architectures like microservices, containerization etc. Also, must have the ability to develop highly trafficked public facing websites. This includes experience scaling up the application performance, auto scaling, securing applications in the client's cloud, and Authorization to Operate (ATO) procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist in the update of the Security Impact Analysis (SIA) document for all related application changes brought on by enhancements or defect resolution. Where none exist, a new SIA should be created.
  • Develop architectures that are scalable, secure, easily maintainable, and sustainable in the long run.
  • Develop architecture that complies with client’s security, privacy, and other mandated policies.
  • Support the development of detailed artifacts (documents) for all phases of SDLC. 
  • Transfer knowledge to staff and confirm that the staff is equipped to maintain day to day operations, SDLC stages and CM procedures.
  • Develop migration strategy and standards which in align with DTNM, DNIA, PAS and AWS standards and best practices.
  • Develop and implement cloud migration strategy which increases efficiency, provides on time press release capability, scalability, sustainability, security, privacy, traceability, maintainability and in long run helps to reduce cost.
  • Establish detailed guidance on tools and processes for cloud governance, security, and management in align with client’s press release requirements, performance standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate and develop required SDLC document artifacts and make sure that the teams follow the process and continuously update the documents. This includes developing implementation strategy and technical documentation for on-premises to cloud migration, cloud architecture, deployment management and infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop flexible, scalable, easily maintainable, and cost-effective application platform architecture which comply with client’s security and privacy standards.
  • Coordinate with various client teams during the migration and confirm that it meets the client's needs. 

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimally requires a relevant degree. Degree in engineering, computer science or any related field.
  • 7 to 9 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience in developing strategy for enterprise-wide methodology or tool implementation or planning and implementing enterprise technology changes in all layers of the architecture including front end, middle tier and backend technologies and tools.
  • Experience in providing enterprise systems architecture expertise in developing Content Management systems supporting common purposes, processes, architectures, and standards.
  • Experience in evaluating and/or employing various local or wide-area network architectures required.
  • Experience in multi-platform technologies.
  • Experience in migrating applications to a government's AWS cloud, performance management, and in ATO procedures.
  • Keeps current in network, development and database architectures and technologies.
  • Experience in Internet/Intranet protocols and web server technologies.
  • Experience in developing systems architectures.
  • Must have the ability to develop applications using various design patterns and architectures like microservices, containerization etc.
  • Must have the ability to develop highly trafficked public facing websites.
  • Experience scaling up the application performance, auto scaling, securing applications in Government cloud, and Authorization to Operate (ATO) procedures.
  • High level of coding skills in HTML, J2EE, microservices, containers, JavaScript, AJAX, Angular X, Spring Boot, Perl, Python, JavaScripting libraries, AWS, Junit, and Cloud computing technologies.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with little to no oversight.
