ONSITE - Franconia/Springfield, VA Area

 

The Maximo Training Specialist will support our client’s centralized asset inventory management system, based on IBM’s Maximo Enterprise Asset Management platform. This role focuses on developing and delivering training programs for users across domestic and international locations, ensuring effective use of Maximo tools and mobile applications. The specialist will work closely with technical teams, program managers, and end users to enhance system adoption, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.

 

Salary is dependent upon the candidates skills, experience, certifications and education as it pertains to this specific position  
Salary Range: $115K - $130K
High end of the salary range is considered for those who exceed Required Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training modules for Maximo users, including technicians, logisticians, engineers, and management personnel.
  • Conduct contractor orientation sessions covering current workflows, mobile capabilities, and system features.
  • Create user guides, job aids, and e-learning content tailored to various user profiles (e.g., Domestic Technicians, Overseas Technicians, Logisticians).
  • Train users on Maximo workflows, mobile applications (EzMaxMobile, SMART Work Manager), and reporting tools (Power BI, Cognos).
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure training materials reflect current system configurations, upgrades (e.g., MAS 8), and best practices.
  • Provide hands-on training for mobile device usage and integration with Maximo.
  • Ensure training content complies with Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Collect feedback and assess training effectiveness to continuously improve delivery and content.
  • Assist with documentation and reporting to support Maximo data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Some travel to overseas ESC locations to perform training.

Qualifications

  • Degrees in related disciplines, or an advanced degree in engineering or computer science are preferred.
  • Six to nine years of directly related experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in training delivery and instructional design, preferably in enterprise asset management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Maximo, including workflows, application designer, and integration framework.
  • Familiarity with mobile Maximo platforms (EzMaxMobile, SMART Work Manager) and mobile device management (SOTI MDM).
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI and Cognos.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting federal government programs.
  • Technical writing experience for training and documentation.
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards.
