Salary is dependent upon the candidates skills, experience, certifications and education as it pertains to this specific position  

Salary Range: $110K - $120K
High end of the salary range is considered for those who exceed Required Qualifications

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of Production and Special Projects Supervisor for an existing government client.  The Production and Special Projects Supervisor oversees the procurement, configuration and shipment of client workstations and servers for over 300 embassies and consulates world-wide. The position requires extensive knowledge in system configurations, audiovisual systems, electrical infrastructure, and network infrastructure; possess a solid working knowledge of computers and computer networks; experience with network infrastructures, and possess a solid understanding of the TCP/IP protocol. The place of performance for this contract is in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of workstation/PCs and HDSVS production to include procurement, configuration, testing, documentation, and shipping.
  • Manage all aspects of logistical support to overseas clients for assigned programs.
  • Manage all aspects of procurement support for the NSM program.
  • Manage various special projects including all domestic sites and various overseas projects, as necessary.
  • Review and design drawings for various projects at DOS facilities.
  • Ensure all tickets submitted into CMMS relating to PC production, logistics, procurement, and domestic installations are acted on promptly, effectively and closed promptly with accuracy.
  • Provide direct and timely support to the HST and/or DS Command Centers, and domestic DoS facilities as may be needed.
  • Serve as the Special Projects team lead and subject matter expert for the project coordinators, PC Configuration Specialists, and logistics personnel. 
  • Act as a conduit for communication between the Special Projects team and the senior leadership and/or technical staff/teams.
  • Manage the daily activities of the Special Projects team – act on any project, logistics and PC configuration issues and ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Under the direction of the senior leadership, initiate, plan, delegate, execute, monitor, and complete projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for the logistics, PC configuration and field support team.
  • Provide expert analysis and advice to leadership regarding procurement, field support and logistics planning.
  • Provide technical support and quality control checks to ensure PC’s, servers and network equipment meet the necessary standards.
  • Work with other IT teams, such as security, systems administrators, and network team, to ensure integrated network operations.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (preferred).
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 - 15 years of experience in audiovisual systems, electrical and network infrastructure.
  • Experience in supervising technicians and logistics personnel to ensure program objectives and government metrics are achieved.
  • Experience in procurement of and configuration/imaging of PC, laptops and other equipment, and shipping in support of client's programs.
  • Experience in monitoring and controlling network and security devices.
  • Proven experience in network and systems administration, technical support, and hardware configuration.
  • Familiarity with Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, HP, Dell, and other security hardware.
  • Must have experience supporting large-scale, distributed IT environments.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, including translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of mixed-technology solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a structured, fast-paced IT operations environment.
