Soft Tech Consulting is seeking an Inventory Management Specialist, providing expert level assistance in auditing, training, development of administrative policies and procedures for staff distribution of equipment and needs assessments for essential staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital and non-capital property for program staff, property custodial officers, procurement/receiving officials, and end users.
  • Provide inventory support of the personal property management program.
  • Plan, organize, and perform continuous audit-related property management projects.
  • Work with program staff to establish an initial baseline, visually survey and reconcile property records in Sunflower and update incorrect information in Sunflower.  
  • Decal property or assist with decaling property (both new and un-decaled old) within a Custodial Code.
  • Prepare and review the program staffs’ documentation that is required in the cannibalization of property, transfer of property, repair passes, loan passes, surplus, property swap out for credit, and report of survey. 
  • Assist program staff with preparing and processing repair passes (outside and inside) and manage property for surplus. 
  • Manage the lost or stolen property process with program staff. 
  • Collect and analyze property data related to the capitalization of equipment; provide property accountability information for all property summary reports; review and analyze computer generated asset databases and associated cost information on a daily basis in order to verify accuracy of the data, noting trends, and variances.  Confirm that all property transactions are correct and accurate; take necessary actions to correct all property transactions that are inappropriately assigned to an office. 
  • Review and update property tracking reports for all purchases and other related property transactions for review by management staff.
  • Use Sunflower, nVision and Data Warehouse and other applicable database management tools/systems to provide property monitoring on behalf of management staff.
  • Conduct and reconcile annual and special inventories and furnish reports of completed inventories.
  • Maintain sufficient documentation to provide substantiation for all property transactions.
  • Provide management reports as required.
  • Prepare responses to various property audits conducted by central management and auditors using information gathered in internal databases.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience performing inventory control. 
  • High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma or Higher.
  • Documented evidence of Sunflower inventory system experience preferred, knowledgeable with the reporting system nVision/NBS preferred.
  • General knowledge of Federal Government Property Management.
  • Experienced with PC and Microsoft applications.
